Sam Roush, the 2026 rookie draft pick for the Chicago Bears, remains unsigned, but I'm not particularly worried about it. While it's unusual for a player of his caliber to be unsigned this late in the offseason, there's a logical explanation for the hold-up. The NFL's contract negotiation process is complex, and the union encourages players in later rounds to demand similar contract provisions as those in earlier rounds. This has led to some delays in signing for third and fourth-round picks, including Roush. However, I believe that Roush's role in the Bears' offense is well-defined, and his youth and athleticism make him a valuable asset. The Bears have plenty of time to figure out his strengths and weaknesses, and I'm confident that they will find a way to utilize his skills effectively. While it's frustrating to see players remain unsigned, I'm not concerned about Roush's situation. He has already participated in all the expected offseason training activities, and his role in the Bears' offense is clear. I look forward to seeing how his role unfolds in the upcoming season.
